Descriptions
Arranges non-emergency air transportation for individuals with medical conditions and other special needs. Accepts requests from health care professionals such as social workers and physicians.
The following is a list of the most common types of missions flown:
- Medical transport
- Special needs camps
- Domestic violence relocation
- Assistance for military personnel
- Blood, organ, and tissue donations
- Transplant recipients
- Disaster response
Transportation and destinations are only within 12 western states, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Eligibility
Individuals who can demonstrate a medical, financial, or other compelling reason for why one cannot use public transportation. Patients are required to be ambulatory (able to walk and get in and out of the aircraft with little to no assistance) and must be medically stable. Requires a minimum of one week's notice for all Angel Flight West trips.

Several documents must be filled out by a physician, nurse, social worker or other healthcare provider, or on occasion from an organization such as the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association
