Program: SUPPORT SERVICES

Agency: BOYS TOWN NATIONAL HOTLINE

Description

Provides a free nationwide 24/7 hotline that offers short-term counseling and crisis intervention to children, teens, parents, and families experiencing any type of difficulty in their lives. Their counselors can also offer referrals to local services in the caller's area. Counselors can help with issues such as:

  • School issues
  • Chemical dependency
  • Relationship problems
  • Anger
  • Depression
  • Suicide prevention
  • Physical, sexual, and emotional abuse
  • Parenting troubles
  • Teen runaways

Also offers tips online on how to deal with challenging situations. Also offers a message board for asking questions about different topics that are answered by counselors. Also provides journal pages for teens to download and print worksheets to help work through issues.
