Program: GUIDE DOG PROGRAM

Agency: FIDELCO GUIDE DOG FOUNDATION

Description

Provides guide dogs to people who are blind. Also provides training for clients and guide dogs with trainers and instructors. Training and bonding will be provided at the clients' homes and work.

Eligibility

People who are legally blind, have had Orientation and Mobility training or have used a guide dog, be capable of cane travel, be able to sustain a walk for a minimum of 30 minutes without stopping to rest, and have a minimum of 2 walking only routes that are traveled several times a week without anyone's assistance.
