Descriptions
Distributes loans and grants for home repairs to rural area income-eligible owner-occupied homeowners. Provides loans to very-low- income homeowners to repair, improve, or modernize homes. Offers grants for very-low-income senior homeowners to remove health and safety hazards. The loan term is 20 years with a 1% fixed interest rate. The maximum loan is $40,000 and maximum grant is $10,000. The household income limit varies by county. The house must be in an eligible rural area.
Eligibility
California rural area income-eligible owner-occupied homeowners
Be unable to obtain affordable credit elsewhere
Have a household income that does not exceed the very low limit by county
For grants, be age 62 or older
