Program: EVERY WOMAN COUNTS

Agency: CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH CARE SERVICES (DHCS)

Description

Provides free breast exams, mammograms, pelvic exams, and Pap tests to low-income women. Aims to prevent and reduce the devastating effects of cancer for Californians. Done through education, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, and integrated preventive services.

*EWC is part of the Cancer Detection and Treatment Branch (CDTB) in the Department of Health Care Service.

Eligibility

Low-income women who have limited or no insurance. Find EWC Income Eligibility Guidelines here.

Must be California residents. *For breast exams, age limit is 40 and up. Cervical exams for women 21 years or older.
