Descriptions
Provides personal finance counseling to veterans and military service members. Counseling is provided to individuals regardless of the date of discharge or rank. Provides Grants to Active Duty Service Members of the rank E-1 - E-6, and veterans who have been discharged in the past 18 months at the rank of E-1 - E-6. Grants for emergency financial assistance can include:
- Emergency food gift cards
- Past due rent and mortgage payment assistance
- Past due utilities payment assistance
- Past due auto payments and pre-approved auto repair
- Emergency travel (for bereavement or medical emergency)
- Critical baby items (clothes, diapers)
Eligibility
Eligibility for Finance education & Counseling
Must be a:
-Active duty or retired
-Eligible family member with military ID card
-Surviving spouse, or
-Reservist
Veteran Eligibility for Emergency Financial Assistance
Must be:
-Active Duty Service Member at the rank of E-1 - E-6
-Veteran, discharged in the past 18 months, as an E-1 - E-6
-Resides in Southern California, including Ventura County, or in Washington State
