Description
Provides placement and support for children in a certified foster or adoptive home. Recruits, trains and guide resource parents through the certification process. Also offers foster home licensing, ongoing training, and post-placement support. There are also guardianship and adoption options. Offering services by phone Mon-Fri from 9am-5pm. Will be conducting orientations and training virtually.
Children needing out-of-home placement are referred by local child protective agencies or the Department of Corrections.
Eligibility
Must be financially self-supporting adult over the age of 18

Must:
-Attend an 8-hour orientation training program taught by the Koinonia staff.
-Have a TB (Tuberculosis) test, showing negative results.
-Obtain a general health clearance.
-Receive CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) & First Aid training (infant, child & adult CPR).
-Attend Water Safety Training is necessary if there is a body of water such as a pool, spa, or pond on the property, or if the children swim in an area where there is no lifeguard on duty.
-Have a home study evaluation and interviews with Koinonia staff, including fingerprinting, criminal record clearance, and child abuse index clearance.
