Program: SUPPORT SERVICES

Agency: CONSULATE OF MEXICO IN OXNARD

Description

Provides assistance to citizens of Mexico living in or visiting the United States. Also provides visas to live or work in Mexico to foreigners. Services include:

Documentation Department:
-Wills
-Passports
-Consular ID cards
-Mexican Voting Cards
-Certified copies of Birth Certificates
-Dual Citizenship for those who were born in The U.S.A. and are
from mother/father of Mexican origin.
-Registration for the Mexican Military Service Card
-Marriages between Mexican citizens
-Registration of deaths of Mexican citizens
-Powers of attorney to be used in Mexico
-Visas to foreigners to visit, work, live or study in Mexico

Protection and Legal Affairs Department:
-Free legal advice; criminal, family, civil, administrative, labor, immigration and human rights case.
-Issues visas the transportation of human remains for burial in Mexico.
-The Initiative for the Comprehensive Care of Women: help for victims of domestic violence, crime, and sexual assault.

Mexican Communities Department:
-Organization of community events in the Tri-Counties
-Creation of "Clubes de Migrantes" Association of Hometowns by migrants
-Window of Health to refer people to services, clinics and hospitals
-Window of Educative Orientation -Window of Finance Assistance
-Assistance about customs in Mexico. This includes how to import a car into Mexico and things you can bring to Mexico in case of
travel.

Cultural and Economic Affairs Department:
-Organization of cultural events to promote the Mexican culture and history
-Organization of events to promote bilateral trade and investment in Mexico

Eligibility

Must be a citizen of Mexico.

Please be prepared to provide a valid issued photo ID, a birth certificate (if applicable), and a recent utility bill or bank statement with your current address.

Fees

Program fees vary based on individual circumstances. Scholarships are available for those in need of financial assistance.
