Program: GO ACCESS (PARATRANSIT SERVICE)

Agency: GOLD COAST TRANSIT DISTRICT (GCTD)

Description

Offers curb-to-curb service to seniors and individuals that are permanently or temporarily disabled. There are no limits on number of trips.

Provides transfer connections with the Camarillo, Thousand Oaks, and Santa Paula paratransit service.

ADA certified clients:
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a Federal Law that prohibits discrimination based on one's disability in regard to employment, public services, and transportation. The ADA guarantees people with disabilities equal access to public transportation. Public transportation providers cannot refuse service to those with disabilities.

During a PSPS Event services will operate as normal

Eligibility

Seniors at least 65 years of age or who will be turning 65 later in the year qualify

*No disability certification required for those with temporary or short-term disabilities, as space permits.

For long-term disability-related transportation needs ADA certification is required.
ADA certification process:
. Requirements:
-Must have a temporary or permanent disability
-An application must be filled out describing their disability or condition that prevents them
from using a fixed bus route
-Application requires signature from healthcare provider.
-An in person assessment must be done once application is submitted

Application Process

Call for an appointment. Requires 1-day advance reservations. Visit https://www.goventura.org//getting-around/ada-certification/ for an ADA certification application. Once the application is submitted to the ADA Certification Coordinator, the client will be contacted for an in-person interview. During the interview, the client will be asked to answer some questions about their disability or condition. A photo will be taken for the ADA card/ID. Once the application is submitted rides can be provided during the application process, no need to wait for approval.
