Program: COUNTY CLERK

Responsible for the recording of deeds, deeds of trust, court decrees and, documents affecting title to real property. Maintains subdivision maps and vital statistics, including birth, death and marriages. Creates digital images of real property and vital records. Provides and maintains a retrieval system to support the public's requests for real property and vital records. Services include:

• Issuing marriage licenses and performs civil marriage ceremonies
• Processing fictitious business name filings
• Providing qualifications and registration for notary public
• Power of attorney filings for surety insurers
• Registering process servers
• Unlawful detainer assistants and legal document assistants
• Administering humane and deputy county officer appointments and oaths
• Certifing foreign translation documents
