Description
Provides Section 8 rental subsidies for low income households. Participants find their own place to rent, pay around 30%-40% of income toward rent and the Housing Authority will pay the difference directly to the property owner. Also maintains a list of private rental housing that accepts the Section 8 vouchers
Current wait list is 10 years.
Eligibility
Must be 18 years of age or older, or emancipated by law.
Must be a legal resident of the United States.
Must pass a background check.
Must meet income guidelines posted on website.
Preferences for waitlist is given to individuals and families that live or work in the City of Ventura

Visit during program hours for application forms or download application forms on website.

Fees
No fee to apply. Clients pay 30-40% of household income towards rent.
