Description
Monitors and conducts surveillance to detect, control, and prevent the spread of communicable diseases in Ventura County. This office receives reports from health care providers. Reports are investigated, appropriate action is taken, and the data is summarized. Then sent to the State and the Federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Also investigates disease outbreaks, monitors emerging infectious diseases, and analyzes data on disease trends in the count.
